Media regulators in Africa discuss evolving trends and emerging issues in African audiovisual sector
The 10th Conference of African Communication Regulation Authorities focused on “The changing African audiovisual sector: Evolving trends and emerging issues”.
Representatives of regulation authorities in African countries, experts and communication researchers participate in the meeting organized in Marrakech, Morocco, from September 21 to 23, and contribute to the debate about audiovisual changes and governance with a focus on digital transformations.
Debates raised several questions as:
– “African audiovisual looking for a new economic model”
– “Changing in audiovisual media professional practices”
– “What digital strategies for African audiovisual”.
Patrick Penninckx, Council of Europe expert, presents a lecture on “Digital transformation of the audiovisual media: a transition in search of governance”.
The meeting chaired by Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubsu, president of the ARCAN, discussed and adopted the executive report as well as the moral and financial reports and the main lines of the roadmap for the period 2022-2024.
During the meeting, has been the ACRAN presidency transfer from CNC-Cameroon to the Haca-Maroc, and the new vice-presidency designation.
