{"id":6090,"date":"2022-08-19T13:21:57","date_gmt":"2022-08-19T11:21:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mediaregulation.org\/2022\/08\/27\/libya-the-general-authority-for-media-content-monitoring-publish-its-first-report\/"},"modified":"2022-09-17T22:35:19","modified_gmt":"2022-09-17T20:35:19","slug":"libya-the-general-authority-for-media-content-monitoring-publish-its-first-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mediaregulation.org\/en\/2022\/08\/19\/libya-the-general-authority-for-media-content-monitoring-publish-its-first-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Libya: The General Authority for Media Content Monitoring publish its first report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The General Authority for Media Content Monitoring in Libya publish its bi-annual report, on the occasion of closing conference about : \u201cChallenges faced by media content monitoring authorities in the region&#8221;, organized with the celebration of: &#8220;Tripoli, capital of the Arab media for the year 2022 \u201d.<br \/>\nThe report, officially submitted to the Libyan Prime Minister, Abdelhamid al-Dbaiba, points out more than 15 thousand professional failures, identified in 26 media.<br \/>\nThe report presentation ceremony was marked by the presence in particular of the President of the High Authority Independent of Audiovisual Communication in Tunisia, members of the High Audiovisual Communication Authority in Morocco and several Libyan journalists.<br \/>\nA set of recommendations was adopted in order to promote audiovisual media in Libya and to enhance the role of the general media content monitoring authority. The participants called in particular to:<br \/>\n&#8211; Ensure the institutionalization of the General Authority for Media Content Monitoring, in order to promote its legal and moral legitimacy, to develop its role in matters of media responsibility, and to constitutionalize this structure in a next step.<br \/>\n&#8211; Develop a medium and long-term strategy and action plan.<br \/>\n&#8211; Strengthen authority efforts in the fields of international cooperation and networking with similar structures as well as regional and international organizations.<br \/>\n&#8211; Promote the opening up of the authority to its external environment (academic and professional).<br \/>\n&#8211; Enhance cooperation with the various partners and actors in the audiovisual media and civil society.<br \/>\n&#8211; Promote a positive interaction with various partners and develop cooperation with public authorities, civil society and media, as well as international technical experts, Based on a clear strategy.<br \/>\nThe participants recommand also to established a committee, in order to prepare, within one month, the Tripoli Declaration on &#8221; fighting hate speech in the Arab media&#8221;.<br \/>\nCommittee composition:<br \/>\nChairman of the Committee: Mr. Jalal Othman, president of General Authority for Media Content Monitoring in the State of Libya.<br \/>\nVice-president of the Committee: Mr. Nouri Lajmi, president of the High Authority Independent of Audiovisual Communication in Tunisia.<br \/>\nCommittee members:<br \/>\n&#8211; Dr. Chabaane Akesh, professor of law at the University of Tripoli<br \/>\n&#8211; Professor Idriss Ibn Al -Tayeb &#8211; Libyan writer<br \/>\n&#8211; Mrs Om kalthoum Saeedan advisor, president of the libyan association of the Judicial Authorities.<br \/>\n&#8211; Mr. Ahmed Zahid, head of the Cultural and linguistic diversity unit of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication &#8211; Morocco<br \/>\n&#8211; Dr Walid al &#8211; Hayouni, International expert in fact checking &#8211; Tunisia<br \/>\n&#8211; Judge Omar Al \u2013Weslati &#8211; Tunisia.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":6042,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[541,12,527],"tags":[189,544],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.1 -
