{"id":6210,"date":"2022-09-08T21:54:09","date_gmt":"2022-09-08T19:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mediaregulation.org\/2022\/09\/08\/free-mooc-on-information-and-elections-in-the-digital-age-from-september-19-to-october-23\/"},"modified":"2022-09-10T11:15:15","modified_gmt":"2022-09-10T09:15:15","slug":"free-mooc-on-information-and-elections-in-the-digital-age-from-september-19-to-october-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mediaregulation.org\/en\/2022\/09\/08\/free-mooc-on-information-and-elections-in-the-digital-age-from-september-19-to-october-23\/","title":{"rendered":"Free MOOC on \u201cInformation and elections in the digital age\u201d from September 19 to October 23"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><!--more-->A free Massive open online course (MOOC) on &#8220;Information and elections in the digital era&#8221; will be launched from September 19 to October 23, at the initiative of UNESCO, the UNDP and the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas.<br \/>\nThis five-week MOOC is meant for electoral experts, members of electoral commissions, civil society, the media, journalists, etc.<br \/>\nOrganized into five modules, participants will learn standards of freedom of expression and will be exposed to recent experiences on how to address disinformation, misinformation, and hate speech that spread during electoral processes.<br \/>\nThe five course topics are:<br \/>\n\u2022 The new information paradigm and elections<br \/>\n\u2022 Disinformation, misinformation, malinformation and hate speech<br \/>\n\u2022 The impact of disinformation misinformation, malinformation and hate speech within the electoral cycle and responses to tackle them,<br \/>\n\u2022 Preventive measures to confront harmful practices online during elections and regulatory measures<br \/>\n\u2022 Corrective measures through identification, fact-checking and monitoring measures;<br \/>\n.Registration will remain open for the duration of the MOOC. Participants are not required to log in at a specific time.
