
Nouri Lajmi is President of the Independent High Authority of Audiovisual Communication of Tunisia (HAICA) since May 3, 2013. He holds a doctorate in information science from the Sorbonne University in Paris (France), and taught for more than two decades at the University of Manouba in Tunis. Since 2019, he has been the current president of the French-speaking Regulators Network (REFRAM).
He resided for more than ten years in Canada where he collaborated with the Canadian International Development Agency, the Public Law Research Center (CRDP) of the University of Montreal and Laval University in Quebec City (Canada), notably in the framework of the “International Journalism” program.
He is the author of several texts and scientific studies on journalism, the public’s right to quality information, regulation in the digital age and self-regulation. He has coordinated and organized numerous international conferences on journalism, ethics and media.
