Launch of the 2nd edition of the Twinning projects between French-speaking initiatives to combat disinformation

The 2nd edition of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) flagship initiative, dedicated to Twinning projects between Francophone initiatives to combat disinformation, have just begun. The implementation of the projects will be in February 2023.

This initiative is part of the OIF program, which aims to strengthen the capacity of French-speaking fact-checkers; to combat disinformation through democratic forms of regulation; to raise awareness and protect the public from the effects of disinformation; and to encourage francophone research and the dissemination of knowledge on disinformation phenomena.

In 2022, the first edition involved 8 projects supported by 19 initiatives from 11 francophone countries. It had made it possible to create nearly 200 training and awareness content on the challenges of combating disinformation, Train more than 300 direct media actors and raise awareness among nearly 1,500 indirect actors from the education and civil society sectors.
