Ofcom: Social media are the main source of information for youth in the United Kingdom
According to the results of a study recently published by the British media regulator Ofcom, “the different age groups consume news very differently; younger age groups are much more likely to use the internet and social media for news, whereas their older counterparts favor print, radio and TV”, notice the research.
The study confirm that the main source of informations for British young people (12-15 years) is social media with 29% for Instagram, which is slightly ahead of Tiktok and YouTube (28%).
Adults remain, on counterweight, faithful to television considered by 71% among the participants in the enquiry “the most reliable media”. Social networks are for them the least reliable media.
